Agroferm Zrt. under liquidation, seeking investors

The plant was built by Kyowa Hakko. The original product was L-lysine (5000 t/y). After changes of owners (EVONIK- Degussa, later Conagen Inc.) the company went to bankruptcy. 

The EVONIK period was finished by using a GMO strain and the capacity reached 30 000 t/y L-threonine. The complete facility is on a world class level. 

About the factory:

- The capacity of the factory can be expanded as the complete territory is 40 ha, moreover, there is no obstacle to purchase surrounding land cheaply.
- The plant can receive any kind of carbon source for fermentation – liquid or solid.
- The isolation can be simply modified for converting the technology to other products than threonine.
- Utilization or disposal of the GMO biomass is solved.
