Postponement of date for organizing Bharat Ko Janiye (Quiz) 2018-19
Government of India has decided to open the “Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz” for foreign citizens also. Participation of Foreign Citizens in the quiz would encourage them to know about India.
2. The 1st round of 2nd edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz was scheduled to be held in Mission during 19-21 July 2018. However, after the announcement by Government of India to open the quiz for foreign national and owing to summer vacation, it has been decided to extend the cut-off date for registration process till 15 October 2018 (local time). The foreign nationals may register themselves during the next 2-3 weeks. The 1st round of Quiz test will open for the contestants from 16-31 October, 2018 (local time). Overseas contestants can appear the Quiz test from anywhere or any part of the world during this period. It may be noted that Quiz contestants do not require to visit Embassy to take the test. Website for Bharat Ko Janiya is now live with web portal https://www.bharatkojaniye.in.
3. Top three winners of foreign national category at Mission level Quiz would be given medals by the Mission and they would participate in the second round of quiz (online) to be conducted by the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. Top 10 finalists in foreign national category would also be selected on the basis of marks secured in second round and they will be invited to participate in the third round (Semi-final) and fourth round (Final round) in India. They would also attend the workshop in New Delhi and participate in the Bharat Ko Janiye Yatra, a 15 day tour of India along with NRI & PIO category. Top 3 winners of (NRI, PIO & Foreign National category) will be awarded Gold/Silver/Bronze medals at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in January 2019 at Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
