Conference: CII First Edition of Environment Sustainability Conclave 21 Feb, Chennai
Posted on: February 10, 2020 | Back | PrintCII Southern Region Environmental Sustainability Taskforce organizes the First Edition of Environment Sustainability Conclave on 21 February 2020 in Chennai with a focus to highlight the direction that corporates have taken to reach their sustainability goals.
The objective of the conclave would be to bring together the best practices and perspectives from stakeholders - Government, Industry, NGO, Academic Institutions and others on sustainable environment and effective climate change management.
In today's scenario, sustainability has ceased to be an optional topic in the strategy harvesting process, and has become a medium to filter risks and optimise opportunities for growth. This flagship initiative would feature exclusive sessions in the form of hour long plenaries on key areas, for environmental compliance and thrive towards excellence for effective learning and sharing of the best practices among the stakeholders.

2. Positive Carbon Footprint
3. Solid Waste Management
4. Water Management
These sessions welcome a host of international and national dignitaries, government officials, corporate leaders, academicians, and leading members from the civil society to congregate on a single platform to deliberate over subjects of global environmental importance.
The conclave will provide knowledge, networking and capacity building as additional take-away to address key issues of sustainability for businesses including:
- 1. Presenting best practices and case studies on the 4 key focus areas
- 2. Recommending policy directives that will create an enabling environment for companies to engage in sustainability and helping create a market for sustainability
- 3. Provide a platform to engage with relevant stakeholders in the area of sustainability while building their capacities on emerging sustainability issues
