On July 21, the Indian Embassy held a special press conference in Budapest for representatives of the Hungarian media.

India is today one of the fastest growing innovation hubs in the world. The main topics of the briefing were:

Fast breeder reactor – India has successfully tested its self-developed fast breeder reactor. Hungary, where the Paks power plant has been a pillar of clean energy for decades, fully understands the importance of this engineering feat.

Hydrogen Train – India's first commercial hydrogen-powered train has started. In the homeland of Kálmán Kandó, a pioneer in rail electrification, this news sounds particularly familiar: the future is born on the rails.

Space Industry – A private Indian company has successfully launched a space rocket and placed a satellite into orbit. Space already connects us: the joint mission of Shubhanshu Shukla and Tibor Kapu opened a new chapter in India-Hungary friendship.

NFHS-6 – The highlight of the briefing was the recently published 6th National Family Health Survey. The results show continuous progress in the fields of public health, nutrition, maternal and child protection, and other important socio-economic indicators. In the city of Ignác Semmelweis, every step that serves the health of mothers and children is of particular importance.

The briefing also reviewed the deepening India-Hungary partnership: expanding cooperation in trade and investment, education, culture, innovation, science and technology, and people-to-people contacts.

The meeting ended with an open, interactive and honest exchange of ideas.
