Ambassador of India attended the closing ceremony of the Kanizsa Open in Nagykanizsa

The Embassy of India was delighted to join the closing ceremony of the Kanizsa Open in Nagykanizsa. Our joy was compounded as India's Pranesh M won the open championship — the second seed showed his real strength in the 9th round to seal victory. Over 50 chess players from India took part. Our Ambassador gave away some of the prizes and interacted with the Indian players. Addressing the gathering, the Ambassador highlighted the giant strides India has taken under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi in building strong infrastructure to support the growth of grassroots chess. We thank the Nagykanizsa Municipality and Mayor Horváth Jácint for their wonderful hospitality. Kudos to the organisers, arbiters and sponsors for a superbly run event — a fitting way to mark 100 years of chess in Nagykanizsa. Congratulations to the winners, and well played to all participants!
