Children's Day in Városliget

Location / Venue:  City Park-Sunset (1146 Budapest, XIV. district)

The International Child Rescue Service has been organizing the City Park Children's Day together with the Budapest Metropolitan Municipality since 1990. From the beginning, it was important for the organizers to provide a high-quality, free program with this event for hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children and their families, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to do so.

1.  The Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Center (Embassy of India) will participate in the program again this year. The Indian tent will be located in the bustling Street of Nations on Sunday, May 26, 2024, between 10:00 and 16:00. During the program, numerous embassies and cultural institutes will present their country's traditions, cultural and gastronomic characteristics, and customs.

2. You can watch  the Indian artists' show on  the Embassy Stage between 2:10 p.m. and 2:40 p.m.

Performers:

  • György Molnár (sitar) and his student, Neel Annadate
  • Dr. Chirayu Bhole (tabla) and his fellow artists: Ms Manjiri Patwardhan (kathak dancer) and Swarit Kelkar (vocals)

3.  We are waiting for children and their parents at the tent with colorful programs:

beading, henna painting, board games, sari fitting, yoga workshop

Since 1990, the  International Children's Safety Service  has been organizing the  Children's Day in the City Park  together with the City Council, Budapest. From the beginning, it was important for the organizers to provide a high-quality, free program for hundreds of thousands of socially marginalized children and their families, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend.

The Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Center is also participating in the program.  The Indian pavilion  will be found in the "Boulevard of Nations" on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm In the program, many embassies present the traditions, cultural and gastronomic peculiarities and customs of their country .

At the  Stage of the Embassies , you can enjoy the show of Indian artists between  14.10 and 14.40 .
