The Embassy of India and the Amrita Sher-Gil Cultural Centre in Budapest cordially invite you to the inauguration of a special wall exhibition dedicated to the life and artistic legacy of Amrita Sher-Gil, accompanied by a unique collection of kokeshi puppets inspired by the artist, created by Hungarian artist Réka Tóth-Vásárhelyi.

The event will celebrate the remarkable artistic heritage of Amrita Sher-Gil, one of the most significant figures in modern Indian art, through a dialogue between painting and contemporary artistic interpretation.

The opening ceremony will begin with welcome remarks by H.E. Mr Anshuman Gaur, Ambassador of India to Hungary, followed by an address by the Guest of Honour. Ms Judit Bagi of the Ferenc Hopp Museum will introduce the concept of the wall exhibition and present the featured artworks. Réka Tóth-Vásárhelyi will then introduce her kokeshi creations inspired by Amrita Sher-Gil, offering a distinctive artistic perspective on the painter's life and work.

The programme will also feature a cultural performance, followed by the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and a guided opportunity to discover the kokeshi exhibition in the Exhibition Hall.

The evening will conclude with refreshments and an opportunity for guests to enjoy the exhibitions and exchange impressions.
