Az utóbbi évek hagyományait követve 2018. október 4-10. között ismét Indiai Filmhetet rendezünk a Puskin moziban. Az idei Filmfesztivál az indiai filmművészet úttörő alkotásait mutatja be, Captain Rahul Bali kurátor válogatásában. A programot a budapesti Indiai Nagykövetség védnöksége alatt és a Puskin mozi közreműködésével az Indian Film Festivals Worldwide (IFFW) szervezi.
Az Indiai Filmhét annak a törekvésnek része, amely a kétoldalú kapcsolatok jegyében - a színes és változatos indiai filmeken keresztül – erősíteni szándékozik a művészeti és kulturális kötődést India és Magyarország között. A fesztivál magyar közönsége a válogatás segítségével betekintést nyerhet indiai filmgyártó mesterek kreatív és zseniális alkotásaiba.

A rendezvényen részt vesznek az indiai film díjnyertes alkotói is: Imtiaz Ali, Rahul Mittra és Umesh Shukla filmrendezők.
A filmfesztivál célja, hogy a mozi és az indiai filmek különleges atmoszférája segítségével szorosabbra fűzze a két ország közötti kulturális kapcsolatokat.

Indiai filmfesztivált rendezni mindenkinek kihívást jelent, hiszen rendkívül nehéz hűen ábrázolni az ikonikus indiai mozi sokoldalúságát és nagyszerűségét egy maroknyi film segítségével. Captain Rahul Bali nehéz feladatot vállalt magára, mert szeretett volna összeállítani egy olyan filmválogatást, ami hűen tükrözi az indiai filmek jellegzetes atmoszféráját és a lehető legjobban mutatja be az emberi érzelmek és erények széles skáláját, úgymint szerelem, kötődés, hűség. A filmfesztivál arra ad lehetőséget, hogy ezeket az érzéseket igazi mozivásznon is megtapasztalhassuk indiai dalok, táncok és zenék segítségével. Az ember, amikor indiai filmet néz, a legelemibb és legszívbemarkolóbb érzéseket éli át; talán ez is megmagyarázza, miért is olyan népszerű világszerte az indiai film.

Harry egy kissé mogorva, középkorú amorózó idegenvezető, aki indiai csoportokat visz európai körútra. Egyik útja végén a nyakába akaszkodik egy idegesítő, nyughatatlan lány, Szédzsal, aki az úton valahol elvesztette a jegygyűrűjét, és addig nem hagyja békén Harryt, amíg az nem segít neki megkeresni a gyűrűt. Így a furcsa páros kénytelen ismét végigjárni a több országot bejáró túra helyszíneit, időnként fura kalandokba keveredve.
A filmben az egyik legnagyobb indiai sztár, Shah Rukh Khan és rendkívül népszerű Anushka Sharma alakítja a párost, és a film érdekessége, hogy a számtalan látványos európai város mellett a film egyes jeleneteit Budapesten forgatták.

Dattatrája Vakharijá igazán kiélvezi az életet, és ő akar lenni a legidősebb élő ember, ehhez azonban meg kell döntenie egy 118 éves férfi rekordját. Hogy minél tovább élhessen, teljesen stresszmentes életet akar élni, ezzel csak egy a gond, 75 éves fia, Bábulál, aki boldogtalanul tengeti napjait. Dattatrájának meg kell találnia a módját, miként változtassa meg fia negatív és zsörtölődő hozzáállását és hogyan hárítsa el saját céljának egyetlen akadályát. Nem is sejtik, hogy kezdetét veszi egy hullámvasúthoz hasonló kaland tele humorral, érzelmekkel, mely felforgatja és örökre megváltoztatja kapcsolatukat.
A 102 Not Out című vígjátékban együtt láthatjuk India két veterán filmsztárját: Amitabh Bachchant és Rishi Kapoort, akik apa-fiú párost alakítanak a filmben.

Siva nem engedi, hogy szerelme ilyen veszélyes küldetésre menjen, ezért ő indul útnak, s szép lassan fény derül a fiú származására is...

Rádzsú küzd ártatlansága elismeréséért, a rendőrség pedig próbálja kibogozni a szálakat és elválasztani a valós tényeket a kitaláltaktól.
A komor thrillert a gudzsarátí film megújulásának lehetőségét elhozó újszerű alkotásként értékelték a kritikusok, és a Nemzeti Filmdíj gálán elnyerte a legjobb gudzsarátí film díját.

The INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL HUNGARY is an endeavour to promote the bilateral cooperation in the fields of art and culture between India & Hungary via Indian cinema which is known for its vibrancy and colour. The audience in Budapest will have an opportunity to see some great works of creative brilliance by master Indian film makers by way of these Indian movies which will go a long way in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
The festival will showcase 7 Indian films – Bahubali-The Beginning, Bahubali- The Conclusion, Saheb Biwi aur Gangster 3, 102 Not Out, Jab Harry met Sejal, Wrong Side Raju & Rustom.
The Festival would be attended by Award winning film makers of Indian cinema Imtiaz Ali, Rahul Mittra and Umesh Shukla. Some of the very well known stars from the Film Fraternity in Hungary as well as other parts of the globe are also expected to attend this mega film festival.
The main objective of this festival is to create euphoria about India and Hungary by way of promoting art and culture of both the countries via cinema.
Curating an Indian Film Festival is always a challenge for anyone because its extremely tough to depict the versatility and grandeur of the iconic brand of Indian Cinema with a handful of films. Therefore the Curator of this festival Captain Rahul Bali had to tread a very difficult path and select these films with utmost precision. All the films have been selected with an aim to spread sheer happiness and depict great virtues like love, bonding and various human emotions on a larger than life canvas through songs, dance and music. Some of the most heartfelt emotions are experienced when you are watching an Indian film, probably explaining why Indian Cinema is so immensely popular world over. These Films would surely evoke a plethora of emotions amongst the audiences and shall surely spread the fragrance of India in Hungary.
