Jagdish Tyagi, becenevén Jolly, csóró vidéki ügyvéd, aki pitiáner ügyek védőjeként próbál megélni, de még ezeket is elveszti. Jobb ügyek reményében barátnőjét hátrahagyva Delhibe költözik, de itt sem jár szerencsével. Ekkor elhatározza, hogy perújrafelvételt kér az ország egyik legnagyobb sztárügyvédjével szemben, mivel az manipulációi révén elérte egy ismert milliomos fiának felmentését, akit hat hajléktalan elgázolásával vádoltak meg. Jolly egyből a médiafigyelem középpontjába kerül, ám Tejinder Rajpal nem könnyű ellenfél és a kezében tartja nemcsak a rendőrséget, de a bíróságot is.

A filmet a három főszereplő játéka tette nagy kritikai sikerré, és a Nemzeti Film Díj gálán a mű elnyerte a legjobb hindi film díját, valamint a bíró szerepét alakító Saurabh Shukla megkapta a legjobb férfi mellékszereplő díját.

Jagdish ’Jolly’ Tyagi is a small time defence lawyer who struggles to earn his living with frivolous cases which he looses anyway. Leaving his girlfriend behind, he moves to Delhi in hope of finding meaningful cases, but luck still evades him. He then decides to request a re-trial against one of the top lawyers of the country, who managed to have his client, a son of a millionaire acquitted of all charges of a hit-and-run involving six homeless people. All of a sudden Jolly finds himself at the spotlight of the media’s attention, but Tejinder Rajpal proves to be a formidable opponent who holds in his hands both the police and the court as well.

The movie became a critically acclaimed hit for the brilliant acting of the three leading men, therefore it won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi, while Saurabh Shukla for his role as the judge also won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.
