„Budapest, Bécs, Hollywood” – Szeptember 13–18. között immár ötödik alkalommal rendezi meg a Nemzeti Filmintézet a restaurált filmek világszerte jegyzett nemzetközi fesztiválját, a Budapesti Klasszikus Film Maratont. A frissen felújított, népszerű klasszikusokat és ritkaságokat bemutató fesztivál hat napja alatt mintegy száz filmet láthat a közönség a világ filmtörténetének legjavából. A program fénypontjaként négy estére ismét ingyenes szabadtéri mozivá alakul a Szent István Bazilika előtti tér. A szeptemberi fesztivál alaptémája Hollywood közép-európai gyökerei lesznek. Ismét lesz Nyitott archívumok szekció, amely a világ filmarchívumaiból hoz el friss felfedezéseket, de nem maradnak el az élő zenével kísért filmvetítések és a diákvetítések sem.

The 5th edition of the Budapest Classics Film Marathon, a festival of restored films, will be held from 13 to 18 September. This year the festival will focus on Hollywood’s Central European roots.
The festival features Indian films as well.
A hundred films will be screened in several locations including the square in front of the Basilica, the Uránia National Film Theater, the Toldi cinema, the Budapest French Institute. The purpose of the Budapest Classics Film Marathon is to bring the values of Hungarian film into domestic and international focus, and to present the most cherished treasures of European film archives to the Hungarian audience.
