Posted on: August 20, 2018 | Back | Print

Kerala has been hit by devastating floods after torrential rainfall which still continues. Schools, colleges and flight operations at Kochi airport have been suspended. Power supply, communication systems and distribution of drinking water have also been disrupted in various parts of the state. Train and road road transport services are also in disarray with large stretches of tracks and roads under water.

With the Meteorological department predicting heavy to very heavy rains across the state for another few days, a red alert has been sounded in all 14 districts. While 1.5 lakh people have been lodged in relief camps across the state, more than 100 people have been reported dead.

Government of Kerala State has called for help to rebuild the lives of people in the State. Finacial assistance can be provided using the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF), details of which are given below.
