From Raj to republic

It was the country’s 70th Republic Day, commemorating the coming into force of the Constitution on that day in 1950, replacing the Government of India Act of the British Raj. India had gained its independence from the United Kingdom on August 15, 1947, Secondly, the 70th anniversary of the establishing of diplomatic relations between India and Hungary is also being celebrated at the moment.
