Rádzs azonban nem tudja, hogy időközben Rónit és az ő legkisebb lánya egymásba szerettek…

Az Emlékek Subhash Ghai rendező külföldön élő indiaiak (NRI) közegében játszódó trilógiájának harmadik darabja, mely a klasszikus indiai értékeket állítja szembe a modern élet elvárásaival a szerelmi és az előre elrendezett házasság ellentétén keresztül. A mű bemutatásakor a külföldi piacokon addigi legnagyobb bevételt elérő indiai film lett, és Jackie Shroffot alakításáért jelölték a legjobb férfi mellékszereplő Filmfare-díjára.

Raj Singh Puri is a simple businessman, who has taken care of his three daughters alone since the death of her wife. His best friend is a rich bussinessman, L. K. Malhotra. He loves Mr Malhotra’s son as his own, and Roni also considers him as his own father and best friend. When Roni receives a marriage offer from an Indian family living in the US, Roni’s parents ask Raj to arrange the marriage and convince Roni to accept it. However Raj doesn’t know, that Roni and his youngest daughter already fell in love with each other …

The ’Memories’, directed by Subhash Ghai is the third piece of his trilogy from the NRI community (Non-resident Indian), which compares the classical Indian values with the expectations of modern life through the contrast of love and arranged marriage. At the first time of presentation, the movie became the biggest box-office hit, and Jackie Shroff was nominated for the Filmfare Award of the Best Male Supporting Actor.
