                                                                                                                                         6th Indian Film Festival launched in Hungary


This year, the 6th Indian Film Festival has been launched in a unique manner, on two leading TV channels of Hungary and one TV channel of Bosnia & Herzegovina. Keeping in mind the sitauation of the pandemic, it was decided to launch the film festival on television channels so that large number of Hungarian audience can watch the Indian cinema and enjoy the flavours of Indian culture and themes sitting at home. On Dec 7th, in a virtual opening ceremony, Ambassador of India launched the Indian Film Festival in the presence of leading film makers, directors, producers of India a nd the TV Channel partners. The five films that would be shown are SAAHO, by superstar of Telugu Cinema, Prabhas of UV Creations, Indu Sarkar made by award winning Director Madhur Bhandarkar, Thinking of Him, director by Pablo Caesar and coproduced by Indian producer Suraj Kumar, The Silence by Ashwini Sidwani and Jhalki by Brahmanand Singh. The films are going to be shown on Hatoscsatorna TV & Szeged TV in Hungary and OBN Channel in Bosnia & Herzegovina. During the Opening ceremony the traielrs of the films were shown and appreciated by all present. The five films are a unique ensemble of bollywood blockbusters as well as pathbreaking, meaningful cinema on some very relevant subjects like child labour, human trafficking and child abuse. The highlight of the festival is the opening film Thuinking of Him, an Indo-Argentinian film made on the legendary poet & writer Rabindra Nath Tagore & his philosophical relatinship with Argentinian poetess Viktoria O Compo. The five films are being telecast on the television channels from Dec 7th to jan 6th, every Monday at 8 pm on hatoscsatorna Channel,a nd every Wednesday at 9:30 pm on Szeged TV.
